It’s that time of year when guests start to arrive for overnight Holiday visits. With only a few weeks left before Thanksgiving, we thought it would be good time to give a few tips for creating a special space that will make your guests feel right at home.
Often guests rooms end up with clutter and furniture that was removed from other rooms. Now is the time to edit what is in the room and remove or throw out anything that wasn’t meant for the room. It’s better to have the room clean and sparse than cluttered and messy.
Fresh white linens always create a lovely foundation for room. If you want to add a little personality, pick an accent color and use that color for pillows and/or a throw. You could also add texture and warmth this time of year with faux fur. If you keep the foundation simple, it’s easy and inexpensive to change up the accents according to season.
Think about all the amenities that hotels offer and put together a tray or basket that contains these miscellaneous items. Since guests may be sharing a bathroom putting folded towels and shampoos and soaps is a nice way for the guest to have their own supplies during their stays.
Other items that are important are a good bedside lamp, the internet access code, a water bottle or carafe and an extra blanket.
